This text is part of Kitāb al-manāsik al-kabīr (the rites of pilgrimage) which is a part included in Muṣannaf ʿAbd al-Razzāq by al-Ḥuḏāqī narration, who solely narrated this part, though not the sole narrator. This book is considered to be a documentary source of the Prophetic traditions narrated on pilgrimage, for it collects a vast number of traditions with full chain of transmission, and furthermore, it includes the sayings of the Prophet companions, their successors, and followers of the successors, together with their Fatāwā (legal opinions) adopting the order of pilgrimage rites. Based upon this, the book contains many rare asānīd (chain of transmission) of Ǧarīb (unfamiliar Ḥadīṯ), Mursal (hadith directly attributed by a successor), and other rarely-found traditions.
