al-Munammaq fī aḫbār Qurayš
This book reports the history of the prophet's Muḥammad tribe; Quraiš, during the pre-Islamic period (Jāhiliyya) and the early days of Islam. The author discusses important events, such as the battles of al-Fijār, the Qurašite alliances, the rivalries between banī Hāšim and banī ʿabd šams, and the wars of banī ʿadī ibn Kaʿb. The author quoted many of his reports from earlier sources, such as al-Aḥlāf (the book of alliances) of ibn abī ṯābit, Ṣifat al-Nabī (the book of the prophet's description), and al-Faḍāʾil al-Kabīr (the extended book of Virtues) of Wahb ibn Wahb, and Ḥilf al-Faḍūl (the book of al-Faḍūl alliance) of Ḥišām al-Kalbī, al-Munāfarāt (the book of Rivalries), and al-Qabāʾil (the book of Tribes) of Muʿammar ibn al-Muṯannā.
