This article analyzes the presence of a decisive rhetorical figure: the Qurʾānic first addressee. Defined and based on a state of research, I propose a new quranic mapping or synopsis that quantifies, classifies and locates the phenomenon in the entire corpus. In support of this work, the peculiar distribution of the quranic first addressee is highlight. I suggest that this distribution reveals a deliberate mise en scene revealing one aspect of the editorial work of the Qurʾānic scribes.
